Where Your Treasure Is, There Your Heart Will Be Also

I grew up with a very religious extended family of orthodox Christians. At the time I didn't give any mind to much of what I learned (though the ambience of rituals seeking communion or salvation were deeply embedded in my psyche).

However, one message that I had not paid mind to has become of significance to me now; "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also". It rings true to me on many levels that I hadn't been exposed to as a child, and it is also at the core of my spiritual understanding.

The heart is mobile in a way that the amorphous mind is not. The heart can be moved by everything that there is and can be. The mind may go through all permutations and combinations of your experience, but it is the treasure of the heart around which the mind orbits all actions and insights.

In that way, what you hold as your treasure is deterministic of the ambit of your life.
